+ Philosophy of Care

Meet Morgan:

Owner of Millie Birth & Wellness Doula Services in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Hi! I’m Morgan - mom of five, certified birth and postpartum doula, yoga student, and your sister in birth!

My journey into birth work began long before I ever held a certification. Like many mothers, I entered my first pregnancies believing that if I read the books, did the stretches, and practiced the breathing techniques, I would be fully prepared. Physically, I checked all the boxes... but I hadn’t yet learned how to trust my voice, my body, or my intuition during the labor process.

After the birth of my third baby, I realized something was missing. My children were here and healthy, but my birth experiences didn’t reflect the sense of empowerment and connection I had hoped for. I had prepared my body, but I hadn’t fully claimed my power. I didn't know how to move or advocate for myself in labor, and I certainly didn't know how to ask for support during postpartum.

When I became pregnant with my fourth, everything changed. I chose a different model of care, immersed myself in learning about physiological birth, moved my body with intention, practiced mindfulness, and discovered the strength that comes from informed advocacy. For the first time, I felt aligned - mentally, physically, and spiritually. It was magic.

This journey of finding my autonomy, deepening the connection between mind, body, and spirit during pregnancy, and recognizing the intuitive dance between mother and baby throughout the birthing process is what sparked my love for birth work. It’s my hope that in working together, you feel supported and encouraged to lean into your own God-given wisdom, and embrace your birth with confidence and peace. ♡

As a doula, I believe every family deserves to feel informed, empowered, and deeply supported—no matter how their birth unfolds.

When I’m not supporting families, you can find me with my husband and our five kids, practicing yoga, reading all the books, thrifting, or drinking a voracious amount of coffee. I can’t wait to connect with you!

Philosophy of Care

I trust in the physiological process of birth.

I believe that medicine is best used as a tool and most often, birth is not a medical event to be managed; rather it’s a normal, natural, and soul-opening spiritual experience that best occurs when a woman feels safe, heard, and connected to her body.

Throughout our time together, you’ll receive evidence-based support and resources to help you feel informed, confident, and empowered in your journey to motherhood. We’ll chat about your dream birth and work through your fears. We'll strengthen your mind body connection through movement & breathwork and we’ll practice positions and relaxation techniques to help you cope during the intensity of labor. We'll also discuss your plans and goals for postpartum, ensuring that you have all the support you need.

Whether you’re choosing to have your baby at home, at a birth center, or at a hospital, you can expect me to be a warm and positive presence, treat you as the highest authority, provide mind, body, and spirit support as desired, and hold space for you in this magical, transformative time in your life.

Why "Millie" Birth & Wellness?

My journey into motherhood started in the spring of 2017 with my very first pregnancy. I knew in my heart that this was my daughter, and we planned to name her Millie, after my husband's great grandmother. Our time together was cut short when I miscarried, but the impact she made on me will never be forgotten. My business name is a nod to her. ♡
